Since the inception of the band in 2002, Le Fuzz has performed in some of the finest music venues in Western Canada, from regional theatres and fairs, to rural community halls, to international concert venues. We believe that performances of any size are integral to the development of our professionalism, and always present unique opportunities for cultural sharing. We give our audience a new, entertaining, multicultural Canadian experience - through images, music, and language.

Le Fuzz: Biographies

Frank Bessai: Violin/Vocals

Frank Bessai is an Edmonton based violinist, songwriter, actor, and social activist working in music, theatre, and community development. Frank is fluent in four languages (French, Spanish, Russian, English). He has directed his career towards exploring world cultures and reflecting multiculturalism. He is a co-founder, songwriter, arranger, and vocalist with Le Fuzz.

Frank is committed to the expansion of musical borders and the promotion of multiculturalism.

Jason Kodie: Piano/Vocals/Accordion

Jason Kodie is a writer, composer, musical director, pianist, and accordionist, in the Edmonton arts. He is a co-founder, songwriter, arranger, and vocalist with Le Fuzz. As a Franco-Albertan, he is equally active in the French community. Jason continues to be inspired by interpreting stories into music in French, English and other languages.

Chris Smith: Guitars/Vocals

Chris Smith is guitarist, composer, songwriter and producer from Edmonton. His career has spanned over 20 years and in that time he has collaborated on more than 30 albums.

He brings his musical knowledge and spirit to the music of Le Fuzz and applies his craft to globally influenced music with original Albertan flavor.

Thom Golub: Upright Bass

Thom Golub is an accomplished upright bass player, composer, and an active member of the Edmonton Music Scene. Thom has collaborated extensively with an impressive variety of professional musicians representing different styles including folk, rock, roots and jazz.

Dwayne Hrynkiw: Percussion

Dwayne is a multi-disciplinary percussionist whose career spans over twenty-five years. He has a well developed understanding of many different styles of percussion. As the multi-dimensional percussionist of Le Fuzz, Dwayne has the opportunity to demonstrate his versatility and command of many world percussion traditions. From blues to salsa to rock to the deep rhythms of West Africa and beyond, Dwayne is able to transcend musical borders and bring mature and experienced rhythms to the mix.
